Cooking at home again!

Frank kept talking about me cooking a meal for us when we got home, even tho we stayed at an all inclusive beautiful place in Cancun. The food was delicious, but sometimes you had to search for the best items. I was touched by his talking about wanting a meal cooked by me when we were down there. So tonight I made his favorite lamb chops with creamed spinach and Rosemary Potato Fans (a new and delicious recipe - see above before being baked). Lia even helped in the preparation by seasoning the spinach!
Here's our finished meal. What a treat to be home and eat this delicious meal - and the lamb is local - from Gorman Heritage Farm - thank you lamb!!!

At the airport

Yes, we were stuck in the Cancun airport for hours. But we tried to fill it with fun - and a nap!

La Isla Mall with an Aquarium

We spent this afternoon at a mall close to our hotel, although more acurately, we spent the time at the Aquarium inside the mall.
There were lots of different fishes but outside there was a tank housing large sea turtles, nurse & reef sharks and sting rays.

Frank is holding a Macaw. Thankfully what isn't pictured is one of these large parrots attempting to fly and land on my HEAD. This pretty much scared me = and Lia - (flew in from behind) but apparently they like cameras and I was taking pictures of the outdoor tank. Yowza.

Now back at home for some cuddle time with our Lia.

The beach and ocean were absolutely beautiful.

We took the bus and noticed that they still change money with their hands.

Putt-Putt and Beach Walking!

We thought we'd use a cloudy morning to play a game of putt-putt and Lia was enjoying herself from the beginning.

We both tried frantically to actually get somewhat of a game in. Lia was more interested in other things besides playing by the rules..

Cloudy morning walk

It was cloudy this morning but still we had a beautiful walk!

Lia loves her balls so we got one for her to play with. She wasn't too comfortable kicking it herself on the sand so we assisted!

Frank got this shot in the lobby. There's something not right about the exposure, but it was just too cute not to post!

Our Second Day in Cancun!

Here is Lia in the morning, it was sunny at the pool. Later in the day the clouds hovered above but it was still nice. Lia took her nap on me - look at that bundle under the towel - that's her! I wiggled her down from the cradle position of my arms.

And here is Frank hanging at the pool and also our little sleepy head after waking up!

On the Beach

It took Lia just a little bit to get used to the sand but she had fun playing with her beach toys.

Right after we checked in I found Lia laying down on the bed all CHILLED. Just like a grown-up!!!

Here's what our deck looks like tonight.....we are scheduled to fly out of CVG to CANCUN tomorrow morning. We hope to be in Mexico tomorrow...

Valentines Morning

Lia, Frank and Colleen went to the Krohn Conservatory.
Lia loved it that many of the attractions were at her eye level, including flowers...
