Getty Lunch

Well, this was our 3rd trip back to the Getty Central. What an incredible place! No wonder why Patti & Joe go so often. It really is amazing! Besides the outdoor shots, there is some incredible art inside (can't take pictures of that) and today we saw, just to name a few, paintings by Degas, Monet & Van Gogh. We also met people from Korea, Tiawan, Israel, Persia, Germany here. This guy was "playing" these stones - it was very cool and really sounded like music!

Beverly Hills & Sprinkles Cupcakes!

Patti, Jeanne and Lia went to Beverly Hills today, mainly for the cupcakes, but also enjoyed the sights, including a fun tulip sculpture. Sprinkles Cupcakes is a cupcake bakery in Beverly Hills who handcraft their goodies from only the finest ingredients! They are worth the wait and have inspired long lines of people - including stars - patiently waiting for these delicious treats. We got 6 different flavors: peanut butter/chocolate, cherry, coconut, red velvet, strawberry & banana. YUM!
Here's Lia working on her buckle (she loves her some buckling!) while waiting outside of Sprinkles\

Venice Beach Canals

After going to a Farmer's Market in Venice Beach, Patti, Jeanne & Lia went to the Venice Canals. So fun, Patti - below - is our amazing tour guide (and photographer!). Thanks Patti! Lia was loving the walk, per usual.Jeanne was drawn to some cool stained glass windows. This one's nice b/c it provides privacy since you literally walk right next to some of these homes.Patti caught this photo when Lia was checking out some ducks swimming by.

Jeanne and Lia went to the Getty today in LA!

Here are a few pictures from Jeanne & Lia's trip to the Getty Center - which is just minutes from where Patti & Joe live.

Getty Center has become one of the preeminent art institutions in the country since its debut in 1997. Celebrated names contributed to the design of the museum's pavilions and gardens, which create an evocative space justifying the $ 1/2 billion price tag.

These pictures are nothing like what Patti can take, and she's currently getting her ass kicked (quoting her) at Santa Monica College (rated #9 in the US) for photography. :) But she's also in her final week of a summer class that should be 14 weeks long but is only 6 so go figure!

Deck trellis is finished!

We're very excited to finally have the trellis completed! Andy helped Frank today and it looks great. Just in time too because our wysteria is really starting to grow up the trellis. It looks fantastic!

Lyle Lovett at the Fraze Pavillion!

We saw our man Lyle at the Fraze Pavilion in Dayton with Danny & Diane. We brought Lia too, it was her first concert and she loved it. She crawled and walked around a bunch and also made friends with everyone she came into contact with! The show was absolutely fantastic. We sat on the lawn but there really isn't a bad seat in the entire place!Lia enjoyed dancing and we even had people comment about it to us!

What's for dinner?

Yep, you guessed it - BROCCOLI! We just got back from Rochester and Alliance today and Jeanne harvested 7 heads of broccoli and 1 of cauliflower. YUM!

Tuesday in Alliance

No surprise here, as usual, Jim and Jess prepared and grilled us a fabulous dinner - lamb AND steak! Not to mention the sides. And all the Grimes's took turns playing with Lia.

Charlotte Beach

Jeanne, Lia and Debo went to the Merry-Go-Round and then met Jan and her kids on the pier after dinner. It was a really beautiful night! Afterwards we went to Abbot's for ice cream!

Rochester Roof!

Both Jimmy and Frank spent the majority of the time we were in Rochester on the roof, or working on it. Frank was happy to help out since Jim has already completed the majority of this tedious hard job!!!

Hanging with the Stanton Family

This was our only night out - for a quick drink before bedtime with Debo. Short but sweet!
