Lots going on today

We found some practice sheets from Lia's preschool and she was enjoying practicing her math skills!
Later we stopped at BBB and Lia found the display that has her pig spatula that Nana got for her....she was begging for more items.
And I canned some tomatillo salsa.  My friend Tami gave me a big bunch of purple and green tomatillos and what better way to save than to can them into salsa.  She shared this recipe with me too!

WS OPEN today!!!

I got tickets (incredible BOX seats) with front row parking from a customer and took my friend Merideth, a fellow tennis enthusiast.  We had an AWESOME day.
And totally SPLURGED for the Moet champagne near the end!  ;)

Lia's Birthday at Coney Island

Patti is in town for Lia's birthday and we were trying to figure out something fun to do.  We decided to go to Coney Island for a swim and then rides.  Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures at the pool and we all had SUCH a great time!  We LOVED the slides and were very impressed with how Lia did.

I think the highlight of this day was when Lia went with me over to the concession stand to "talk" to a man who was both deaf AND blind.  He actually FELT her hands as she signed to him and she told him it was her birthday.  So amazing!

Lia's 5th Birthday Party!

1/2 way through the party I realized I better take some pictures!
Here's Joey's mom, Malia and Malia's mom enjoying some dinner.
Now for the crowd under the tent Frank put up b/c it looked like rain until about 2 hours before the party!
It was nice sharing Lia's party with family and some of our own friends!
Even tho we didn't need the tent it was a nice cozy spot and a great place for the art.
Now for some kids....silly Joey.
Maya and Natalie.
Dad and Birthday Girl.
Birthday Girl and Mommy.
Brynne, Ayla and MacKenzie on the swings.  What a great thing to have in the back yard!
Maya and Joey and the Castle - another bonus to the yard!
Frank was so excited that I finished my lizard mosaic for the party.  ;)
Signing friends!
Frank took some of those hanging out in the front:

Unfortunately, since I was busy hosting this event, I didn't get all of the pictures I wanted to.  Especially all the kids (and adults!) who were working on the fun art project - "tye dye" sharpie shirts!  :(
