Pasta Time

I realized it has been years since I made this type of home made pasta so I decided to make some Tomato Basil Pasta today!  Yum!

Back home and back to the kitchen!

Ever since I tried Beans and Greens for the first time in Rochester, I've been rushing to make it when I get home.  It is so comforting and delicious at this time of the year!  We just got back and here I am, making it!  :) 

We all love it, Lia included.

And, per special request from a friend who is having a party tonight, I'm making my spanikopitas. 

Why not mix in some shrimp?

Yes, it's been a full day of cooking, and so nice to be home doing it!!

Rochester

Christmas time in Rochester!

I dropped the ball on getting a lot of pictures today but at least I got 2 of my sweet girl wtih her aunt and uncle!!!  Mary hosted us for a wonderful pizza dinner.  Lia's all about the loving on her family!

Serenaded at Gordo's Pub!

We had planned on going to the Zoo tonight but ended up doing a drive through of Sharon Wood's Christmas decorations with Patti.  It was fun, and most importantly, not too cold and wet inside the car for Lia who has a cold.  Afterwards we went to Gordo's for burgers and we were (Lia was more like it) serenaded by a fabulous quartette who had just left a gig at Norwood's Library.

 I think Cauliflower is going to miss Patti as much as we will when she's gone!

Our "home' Christmas!

Today we had our Christmas morning at home where we opened up some gifts so we don't have to bring them all to Rochester! 

Lia is pretty excited about her new COMPUTER!  From Nana and Poppy & Mom and Dad.

Amazing Easy Dinner

This little sandwich is a FAVORITE!!!  I use prosciutto, arugula (plenty of it) and fontina (or baby swiss).  I am going to try this again soon with avocado!  What a fabulous, easy, yummy dinner we all lo♥e!!!

Christmas in Norwood!

A GREAT "new" find!!!

While on our recent trip to Palm Coast visiting Connie, Chris and Nana Poppy - Connie and I went to Goodwill.  I found an awesome Panini Press (Connie found a great tart pan in a size she wanted!).  I have been waiting on books from the library for panini recipes but I decided to just go ahead and make my own this morning (something simple):  English muffin, friend egg, bacon and cheddar.  It was DELISH!  I am excited about creating more deliciuosness with this!

On our way home....

We had a great trip and are now on our way home.  I'm thankful to have a warm (wool) knitting project to keep me warm in the car.

However, today we experienced something pretty scary on the road.  Luckily someone in a car passing us noticed a huge problem with our rear tire on our Scamper.  Thank God we got off in time, and the exit we took even had a garage that we could leave our trailer.  You can see the difference in the wheels above and below.

Lia was pretty upset about leaving the Scamp but I tried to explain how fortunate we are to not have been involved in an accident.  Here she is above after recovering "Love Bug" from our scamper so we could bring her home with us!

Connie and Chris treated (Thank you!!!)  us to a delcious meal at a restaurant that they love at the beach:  Blue.  Almost all of us got their scallop salad!  Above I was just playing around with different color effects!  :)

Another day in Palm Coast!

 The morning after Thanksgiving Lia got busy (with Chris accompanying her) on her scooter!

And Connie and I got in a "real" ride - I did NOT have Lia attached to the back of my bike in the trailer!  What a refreshing treat!

Thanksgiving in Palm Coast!!!

What a great time in Palm Coast visiting Connie, Chris and Mom and Dad!!!
This morning Connie took me (while I carted Lia in the trailer) on a tour of their beautiful neighborhood.  Frank went for a run and after some of us climbed into their HOT TUB!!!  How NICE!

Then it was time for Connie and Chris to get down to business:  Thanksgiving!

The meal was awesome as ever!  And they managed to do it with style!  ;)


Of course Lia was soooo happy (as were we all) to see Nana and Poppy!!!

Tybee Island

After a long fun day exploring Savannah's museums, churches, buildings, and riverfront we headed back to Tybee Island for some beach time.
 
We reached it just in time for a beautiful sunset at the beach!

AND we spotted some dolphins!  Now that was a highlight for us and Lia!  :)
